LAST WORD ON SEPTEMBER...

A good month for the 1sts as we stretch our unbeaten start to the season to 7 games (4 wins at home, 3 draws away) to finish September 3rd in the Macron SCFL Div 2 table with 15 points.

A quarter of the way into the season the top 10 in the table looks like:

Too early to draw conclusions as a run of wins/ losses can quickly change things, but all the talk suggests Montpelier Villa are going to be the team to beat this season. Also a good month for TD Shipley and Jarvis Brook, who also remain unbeaten.

Sat 19 Oct v Cowfold home, League

Sat 26 Oct v Littlehampton Utd away, SCFL Div 2 Cup 1st Round.

The match this Saturday 5 October away at our good friends TD Shipley is already looking a massive game and promises to be a cracker.

The Club are very proud that Skipper Gunny, Kris and Jonny were picked for the League Reps team that narrowly lost to Essex and Suffolk Border League in the FA National Inter League Cup at Harwich last Saturday. With plans in place for further League Reps games, including a match against Kent League it’s good to see the SCFL committing to a Reps team.

RESERVES

A decent start to the season for the Reserves, also 3rd in the table, with 3 wins and just the set back away to League leaders Sompting.

It was particularly pleasing to progress in the Malcolm Simmonds Cup 1st Round with a win after extra time at Wisborough Green last Saturday. We play Sidlesham Res away in the next round, 23 Nov. We know our home form in the League is going to be a crucial factor this season.

U12s/U10s YOUTH TEAMS

The Under 12s have played 3 matches, won all 3 and scored 34 goals, one against. Things feel a lot tougher this Sat 5 October when we entertain Faygate Utd, also unbeaten, in a repeat of last years Cup Final. Should be a good game, well worth your support, ko 9 30am at the UB Primary School Pitch.

Congratulations to Ryan Plummer and Lenny Higgins on 100th appearances for Beeding, and Lenny on going past 150 goals.

The Under 10s enjoyed their first match win at home to Steyning. Their next home game is v Chesworth, Sat 12 Oct ko 9 30am at UBMF

UBFC PLAYER OF THE MONTH

Plenty of solid performances from the lads in both the 1st team and the Reserves. The stand out performer, and UBFC Player of the Month for September is:

Alfie Capper

After a break from the game and preseason injury he has been back to his brilliant, consistent best in a series of super games this month. Well done Alfie !

He wins a free Sunday Roast at the Riser for him and partner ! Enjoy !!!!
